Transportation
Bus
Turicun and Autocar are the two urban bus companies (with local government concessions). They have several established routes and run regularly scheduled services along the city's main avenues and Kukulcan Boulevard, through the Hotel Zone. Buses stop every three to five minutes at Hotel Zone bus stops, but schedules vary in the city. The cost of a bus ticket in the city is currently 5 pesos while Hotel Zone bus rides cost 6.5 pesos.

Taxi
There are nearly 4,000 taxis in service in the city and approximately 10,000 drivers. Some of them are bilingual, but all of them are dedicated to giving good service and know the city well. The taxi fare in the city and outlying residential sections is 15 to 18 pesos. Fares to the Hotel Zone vary depending on the area, so ask what the authorized rate is before getting in. Some taxis have stickers listing the official fares on their windows.
